SERVER UPDATE

10-22-25

We hope you are all doing well.

I wanted to go ahead and take this time to update everyone on what has been going on in the background, as I am sure most of you have a lot of questions.

Recently we finished up tracklisting for the Lo-Fi Breaks compilation.

Artwork is nearing the final stages, as well as contracts have been exchanged and solidified. As we get closer to november we ask for a little patience as we get everything ready for the CD release as well as a little something else we have been keeping quiet about in the background that we are extremely excited to share with you. I know that sounds cryptic but just trust us, all in due time, Promise!

Now, with that being said, we understand that our submissions are still open at the moment, and we are working as diligently as we can at the moment to get to each one, we have just been very very busy.

I personally got hit with a massive workload of responsibilities at my other job I was not expecting BUT, that is all ok because I want all of you to know that starting 11/03/25 we will be kicking things into high gear, as I will personally have much more time to dedicate to the server, and will be here a LOT more, and I will have much more time to answer questions, submission tickets, and just being all around more present than I am currently so, hopefully you can tolerate my sorry ass with that much free time on my hands.

You are all so very very loved.
We appreciate everything you guys do to support this community.
Thank you for being you.

You all remember our first compilation DATA-BREACH, and how much love, blood, sweat, tears, and time was poured into putting that together. We are still so proud of everyone who contributed to that first round.

It is time for round 2...

And just like the first one, this one will also be released on physical CD!!!

We look forward to hearing your art!

UPDATE

05-13-25

Greetings Surfnet Family,

We have a very special announcement to share with all of you wonderful people. Some of you have already heard the news, and have kept quiet about it very well, and for that, we are eternally grateful, you know who you are.

When we started this community, we did not really have a target idea in mind. We never once assumed this would become a label. Most of you already know the story, but for those of you who are new here, let us just give you the cliff-notes.

This started as a community of artists, tired of being either exploited or totally ignored by record labels, so we started this community to share art with each other instead. Next thing we know, we are getting people sending us tracks, for no reason, because they think we are a label, then people started asking us if we were ever going to start a label, and so some of us sat down, hopped on a VC, and mapped that idea out, and at first it was very bumpy, I can not lie, we have seen a lot of up's and down's here, respectfully, but real shit, nothing has ever stopped us. nothing.

This community will always be a family to those who embrace it and enjoy it, for artists who need a place to share their art.

Since we started this label, we have been doing releases at a split of 30/70 to help us kind of get ourselves established a bit, and we are eternally grateful for the artists who have agreed to this in the past, but recently we had a few discussions, and have come to the conclusion that the only way to really fully do what we want to do here, is by giving artists everything they deserve for their art, which is 100% of their earnings.

You read that correctly, we are giving everyone who releases with us from this day forward, 100% of their earnings. We are not taking any earnings from any releases ever again.

Furthermore, with the release of DATA BREACH, we are extremely proud to announce that we are offering physical CD releases to all of our artists, along with 100% of every CD sale going to each and every artist that releases on CD. Yes, you read that correctly, your CD will be hosted on our website, and every earning will go to you.

Just please, keep in mind we got a very small team trying to fulfill all of this, so please understand we will get to all of you as soon as we can.

Why are we doing this?

Why not?
